Professional Code of Practice

code of practice

As a registered mental health nurse, I follow the UK Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code. This outlines the professional standards that nurses and midwives must uphold to be registered to practice in the UK.

The code is structured around four themes:

  • prioritise people
  • practice effectively
  • preserve safety
  • promote professionalism and trust

Each theme contains a series of statements to guide good practice. Whether I am delivering interventions or providing recommendations, these values and principles underpin my professional practice. They are an essential and non-negotiable part of my work for Crisis ReAction.

To maintain my registration with the NMC, I must complete the revalidation process every three years. This involves submitting evidence of my continued ability to practice safely and effectively according to the standards set out in the code. To meet these requirements, I engage in regular professional development and monthly clinical supervision with a consultant clinical psychologist. This includes attending specialist training to keep my practice up to date and at a consistently high standard.

Should you wish to verify my professional registration, you can search the NMC register using my unique NMC PIN: 01J0598S and my name.
